The government has carried out another round of cabinet portfolio changes, this time withdrawing a ministry from Mohammad Aminur Rashid, who was in charge of three ministries.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman approved the changes yesterday (25 March) in line with the government’s Rules of Business, according to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division.
Until now, Rashid had been in charge of the food ministry, the fisheries and livestock ministry, and the agriculture ministry.
Following the reshuffle, he will continue to oversee the fisheries and livestock ministry and the agriculture ministry.
State Minister for Public Administration Md Abdul Bari will now serve as state minister for the food ministry in addition to his current responsibilities.
Following the latest changes, the Cabinet led by Tarique Rahman now has 49 members.
Apart from the prime minister, it includes 25 full ministers and 23 state ministers.
In addition, the prime minister is assisted by 10 advisers who hold ranks equivalent to ministers and state ministers.
