Dhaka North City Corporation will hold its central Eid-ul-Fitr Jamaat at 8am at the Old Trade Fair Ground in Agargaon on the day of Eid.
The Eid congregation will take place at the ground adjacent to the China Friendship Conference Centre under the initiative of Dhaka North, reads a press release.
A preparatory meeting on organising the central Eid Jamaat was held today (15 March) at the Dhaka North conference room. The meeting was chaired by Dhaka North Administrator Md Shafiqul Islam Khan.
Officials said necessary preparations are being made to organise the congregation in a disciplined and orderly environment for city residents.
According to North City, three entry gates will be set up for the Eidgah and a separate entrance will be arranged for women. Ablution facilities will also be provided for worshippers.
To ensure security and maintain law and order, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police will deploy two platoons of police. Relevant agencies, including the traffic department, Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited and Wasa, will coordinate to ensure traffic management as well as electricity and water supply.
During the meeting, the administrator instructed officials concerned to properly carry out their assigned responsibilities and inform city residents about the arrangement.
Dhaka North City has invited all city residents and worshippers to participate in the central Eid-ul-Fitr Jamaat.
