As airfields in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Doha remain closed, authorities in Bangladesh cancelled 45 flights at Dhaka and Chattogram airports today (3 March).
Thirty-eight flights were cancelled at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in today, confirmed Muhammad Kawsar Mahmud, assistant director (public relations) of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).
He said, “Due to the closure of airspace amid the war situation, 23 flights were cancelled on 28 February, 40 on 1 March, 46 on 2 March and 38 scheduled flights on 3 March. In total, 147 flights have been cancelled so far.”
Meanwhile, seven morning flights at Chattogram’s Hazrat Shah Amanat International Airport.
With these seven, a total of 35 international flights scheduled to operate to and from Chattogram airport have been cancelled since 28 February due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, airport authorities said.
Authorities at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport have instructed all concerned airlines to inform passengers in advance about flight cancellations, delays or rescheduling through SMS, email and call centres following temporary airspace closures in parts of the Middle East.
