Dax Shepard recently got candid and opened up about raising two teenage daughters with wife Kristen Bell.
For those unaware, Shepard and Bell welcomed two daughters, Lincoln Shepard in March 2012 and Delta Shepard in December 2014.
During the Wednesday, October 28 episode of his podcast Armchair Expert, Sara and Erib Foster asked the 51-year-old American actor and comedian how often he and his wife get into fights after 19 years of marriage.
Responding to the question, the Parenthood star stated that he and Bell are “pretty good at handling our s*****” after years of togetherness.
He said, “We have a lot of s***** though. We have two children, and they are going through puberty, and that stressor…it throws the whole dynamic into a new zone that you have to figure out. ‘Okay, how do we now navigate this?’”
“You know, it’s really hard when they’re really little because you care so much about the decisions you’re making with the kid. You’re certain you can f***** it up,” the Employee of the Month star stated.
Shepard went on to share that he and the Frozen star sometimes struggle to handle a particular situation with their daughters, but they try a practical approach to get through it rather than yelling and cursing each other.
He quipped, “And then there’s a sweet spot between, like, six and puberty. You’re like, ‘This is working out pretty good. I think this compromise, however we’re doing it, is working.’ And then a whole new situation comes, and you’re like, ‘F*****. Well now we need a new strategy, and I don’t know that we always agree.’”
“And then there’s more stress. I like to think if we didn’t have kids, it would be pretty smooth sailing. But we don’t scream at each other or swear at each other,” Dax Shepard said.
