Bangladesh’s decision to purchase Airbus aircraft was not political, and discussions on the agreement are still ongoing, French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet has said.
“We are still hopeful about signing the agreement,” the French envoy said at a discussion organised by the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) today (22 September).
He said France remained hopeful that Bangladesh would maintain fair competition in the international market, adding that other European countries also shared the expectation.
Séré-Charlet said Bangladesh-France relations would develop on the basis of mutual interests.
