Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono’s long-running rift took centre stage.
It is worth noting here that Paul McCartney who is one of The Beatles most iconic members and musical collaborator of late John Lennon has been in a decades old feud with John’s wife Yoko Ono.
Tensions between the two started during the band’s final years in late 1960’s. As Paul and the late Beatles’ guitarist, George Harrison, previously revealed that he didn’t “think any of us particularly liked it,” and described Yoko’s presence as “an interference in the workplace.”
However, according to Radar Online, the two music figures have grown closer in recent years.
As a source has revealed to the outlet, “These days they have a very special bond that Yoko cherishes very much while she deals with getting older and living out of the spotlight.”
Back in 2002, yoko’s lawyer threatened Paul with legal action after he altered the song’s writing credits, stating, “He and John made an agreement 40 years ago that they would share credit in this way. To change it now, well, John’s not here to argue,” but the matter got resolved in 2003.
Later Paul changed his perspective and acknowledged that Yoko was not responsible for the Beatles’ breakup, saying, “We were breaking up on our own.”
He went on to say, “John was already looking for something else. Yoko just opened his eyes to a new way of being.”
Adding, “I thought she was pushy, which I think I was wrong. We finally made our peace.”
“John would have been very pleased,” Paul added further.
