The Dhaka Metropolitan Police has so far arrested 179 leaders and activists of the activities-banned Awami League and its associate organisations over a procession in Dhaka’s Gulshan area.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Niaz Mehedi of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the development today (19 September).
Police said leaders and activists of the Awami League and its student wing, Chhatra League, gathered near Police Plaza in Gulshan before Jumah prayers on 11 September and held a procession.
