Public confidence in healthcare rises: Rashed Khan

Political Assistant to the Prime Minister Rashed Khan today (18 September) said public confidence in government healthcare services has increased, resulting in a rise in the number of patients at government hospitals.

“Education and health are among the government’s top priorities. Increased budget allocations and development activities in these sectors have boosted public confidence,” he said.

He made the remarks after visiting Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RPMCH) this morning (18 September).

Rashed said the government is working to improve healthcare quality, develop infrastructure and expand modern medical facilities.

He stressed the need to modernise government hospitals and equip them with advanced technology, saying treatment at private hospitals is beyond the means of many people.

During the visit, he toured different wards and departments of the hospital and inquired about the services being provided to patients.

He also emphasised increasing the capacity of government hospitals to ensure quality treatment at affordable costs.

Rangpur District Council Administrator Md Saiful Islam, RPMCH Director Brigadier General Md Ashiqur Rahman, Rangpur Medical College Principal Professor Dr Md Anwar Hossain, senior BNP leaders Md Liton Parvez, Md Badal Hossain, Rajib Chowdhury and Junayed Chowdhury, and other officials were present during the visit.
