Bangladeshi artist Ruhul Amin Tarek has been granted the United Kingdom’s Global Talent Visa in recognition of his work in the field of arts and culture.
To mark the achievement, Kaalnee Art Studio is organising a reunion and art gathering at 7:30pm tomorrow (2 September).
Tarek is known for his woodcut works and has received several awards and honours for his artistic practice in Bangladesh, including the 21st and 22nd National Awards in consecutive years.
His artworks have also been exhibited in the UK, Japan, South Korea, Bhutan, India, Indonesia and other countries.
The UK Global Talent Visa is available to individuals recognised as leaders or potential leaders in fields including arts and culture.
Applicants in the arts and culture category are assessed based on their professional work, international recognition and contribution to their field.
The gathering at Kaalnee Art Studio will include discussions on Tarek’s artistic practice, experience in woodcut, international exhibitions and future artistic plans.
