State Minister-1 for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir today (1 September) signed the condolence book at the Nepal Embassy in Dhaka on behalf of the Bangladesh Government following the devastating floods and mudslides in northern Nepal recently.
“As we stand together, we are confident in the resilience and strength of the people of Nepal to overcome the challenges with fortitude,” the State Minister wrote.
On behalf of the Government and people of Bangladesh, he extended heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the Government and friendly people of Nepal over the deaths of hundreds of people, including tourists, and the large-scale destruction of property and infrastructure caused by the sudden, devastating floods and mudslides in northern Nepal on 26 August 2026.
“At this hour of profound grief,” he said, “our sincere thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this terrible tragedy.”
The State Minister said Bangladesh expresses solidarity with the friendly people of Nepal and stands ready to extend any assistance required.
