Primary education monitoring will focus on students’ actual learning outcomes rather than paper-based reports, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj said today (25 August).
He said teacher and student attendance, learning progress and school performance would be directly assessed to ensure that official reports reflect the actual situation in schools.
Bobby Hajjaj made the remarks while speaking at a daylong workshop on reforming classroom activities, monitoring and accountability in primary education at the Rajshahi PTI auditorium.
He said the government plans to bring all types of primary schools under an effective monitoring system, with greater emphasis on learning outcomes, transparency and accountability.
A nationwide action plan is being implemented to improve school monitoring, teacher management, curriculum, technology use, classroom environments, infrastructure and sanitation facilities, he added.
Workshops have already been held in Mymensingh, Barishal, Sylhet and Rajshahi, while similar programmes will be held in Khulna, Rangpur and Dhaka.
“Our goal is for every child to remain in school and every student to receive the right education,” the state minister said.
The workshop was attended by divisional and district-level education officials, local administration representatives and other officials concerned.
