In a market worth approximately Tk2,500 crore, where local manufacturers meet most of the country’s demand, Click Fan is betting that better engineering, safety and after-sales service can turn an everyday appliance into a trusted Bangladeshi brand.
Fans are among the most common appliances in Bangladeshi homes. While the ceiling fan remains the dominant type, consumer needs have expanded to include stand fans, table fans, rechargeable fans and other variants designed for different spaces and uses.
For Click, the ambition is not simply to capture a larger share of the market. The company is positioning its products around three core ideas: quality, durability and service.
A fan may look simple, but its blade design can have a significant impact on airflow. Click uses aerodynamic blade designs intended to improve air delivery and distribute airflow more evenly across a room.
The company also uses double-shielded ball bearings, designed to reduce friction and support smoother, quieter operation. Lower friction can help reduce the load on the motor and support longer-lasting performance.
Click uses 99.99% high-quality copper motors, focusing on efficiency, heat management and long-term performance.
The company says its copper motors are designed to provide efficient performance while generating less heat. This is particularly relevant as electricity efficiency becomes an increasingly important consideration for households.
Because fans can run for several hours a day, even small differences in efficiency can add up over extended use. For Click, the motor is therefore an important part of its product proposition rather than simply a component hidden inside the fan.
The rise of BLDC fans
Energy efficiency is also creating greater interest in BLDC fans. BLDC, or Brushless DC, technology is designed to deliver efficient motor performance while consuming less electricity than conventional fan motors.
As consumers become more conscious of electricity consumption, the energy-saving category is becoming increasingly relevant to the fan market. BLDC fans are therefore emerging as an important part of the industry’s move towards more efficient appliances.
The fan market is no longer limited to a single product category. Ceiling fans remain a household staple, but stand fans and table fans offer flexibility for rooms and spaces where fixed installation is not practical, Click has quickly become a trusted name.
Rechargeable fans have also become increasingly relevant, particularly where uninterrupted access to electricity is a concern. Together, these categories show how the fan market is evolving around different consumer needs, from everyday cooling to portability and energy efficiency.
Safety first, literally
Safety is another area Click wants consumers to consider. Since ceiling fans are mounted directly above people and often operate for long periods, Click incorporates safety cotter pins and safety wires into its fans, intended to reduce the risk of the unit falling.
The company describes this as its “Safety First” design philosophy. It also places emphasis on the strength and durability of the fan’s body and materials.
These are not necessarily features that stand out in a showroom, but they address a basic expectation of any household appliance: that it should be safe and reliable in everyday use.
A market under pressure
Building a better fan comes at a time when manufacturing costs remain under pressure. Global prices of key metals such as aluminium and copper, along with higher transportation and production costs, have affected manufacturers.
For companies, the challenge is to manage these rising costs without compromising product quality. In Bangladesh, where consumers remain highly price-conscious, this makes value an important part of competition.
Click’s approach is to compete on value rather than simply trying to be the cheapest option. A fan that lasts longer, uses electricity efficiently, requires less maintenance and comes with dependable service can offer greater value over its lifetime.
For consumers, the real test of an appliance often begins after the purchase. The availability of spare parts and service can become just as important as the original product.
Click offers a seven-year warranty and says it provides quick service support and easy parts replacement. The company is also planning to expand its nationwide service network.
The objective is straightforward: to ensure that customers continue to receive support after the purchase. As competition among local consumer-appliance brands grows, after-sales service is becoming an increasingly important point of differentiation.
From Bangladesh to 16 countries
Click’s ambitions extend beyond the domestic market. Clicks mother brand RFL is exporting fan to 16 countries and is working to expand its international footprint.
Its challenge is therefore not only to convince Bangladeshi consumers that its products are reliable, but also to demonstrate that a Bangladeshi-made fan can compete internationally on quality and consistency.
Click says it is aligning products with international standards, increasing production capacity and pursuing strategic partnerships to support its export ambitions.
The long-term goal is to establish Click as a trusted Bangladeshi brand in international markets.
The fan has never been the most glamorous household appliance. Most people buy one because they need one, and once installed, it tends to disappear into the background.
Click is trying to make that background product worth thinking about.
Its approach brings together aerodynamic blades, double-shielded ball bearings, high-quality copper motors, safety features, energy-efficient technologies and after-sales support.
None of these features alone transforms the product. Together, however, they represent a different way of competing in a Tk2,500 crore market.
With local manufacturers already meeting most of Bangladesh’s demand, Click’s next challenge is to prove that a Bangladeshi fan can compete not only on price, but also on engineering, reliability and trust.
The company is betting that the breeze from Bangladesh can travel considerably further.
