Sarah Ferguson has still not met her newest grandchild, it is revealed.
The former Duchess of York, who is currently in a secret hideout place after her exile from the Royal Lodge earlier this year, has not been to Portugal to meet Princess Eugenie’s daughter.
Despite reports suggesting that Fergie spent time with Adelaide Brooksbank days after her birth, it is revealed that the new grandmother is staying away for security reasons, says Daily Express.
Speaking of Fergie and ex husband Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, an insider earlier told HeatWorld: “They’re absolutely thrilled for Eugenie and very excited to be getting another grandchild, but they’re also saying that nothing brings a family together quite like a newborn, so they’re seeing this as an opportunity to try and build a bridge with Charles and Camilla and the rest of their extended family.”
“Andrew’s very excited and proud and he’s been sharing updates with the family members he still keeps in touch with, and certain courtiers and other staffers as well,” the insider adds.
“He and Sarah are definitely looking at this as a foot back in the door with the Firm. They know this baby isn’t going to erase everything that’s happened, but they can’t help but pin a lot of hope on this. They are determined to make the most of every opportunity this new arrival brings because, in their minds, it’s a rare chance to remind everyone they’re still part of the family,” the expert notes.
