Three people died of dengue and 753 new patients were hospitalised across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The deaths were reported from Dhaka North City Corporation, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions, the DGHS said in a press release issued today (18 August).
With the latest fatalities, the country’s dengue death toll has risen to 74 this year.
During the same 24-hour period, 723 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 23,747.
The latest admissions have pushed the country’s total dengue cases this year to 25,601, according to the DGHS Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room.
