RAB-2 said the four were involved in arms trading and other criminal activities as members of the Kaiyum gang.
Acting on intelligence, a RAB-2 team learned that several arms traders were staying in the Johuri Mohalla area of Mohammadpur on 16 August to conduct an arms transaction.
The team conducted a raid in the area that night and arrested the four suspects. The pistol, magazine and ammunition were recovered from them, RAB said.
RAB-2 Commander Additional DIG Naimul Hasan said members of the Kaiyum gang had long been involved in arms trading, extortion, fighting and gang control in different parts of Mohammadpur.
“We are investigating where the recovered firearm came from and who else may be involved,” he said.
According to RAB, the Kaiyum gang operates in Tikkapara, Aziz Mohalla and the Ring Road area near Suchana Community Centre in Mohammadpur. Its members are allegedly involved in arms trading, extortion, fighting and gang control in these areas.
RAB said Rubel has three cases filed with Mohammadpur Police Station on charges including theft, rioting, murder and intimidation, along with 10 cases under the Narcotics Control Act. He also has a drug case filed with Adabor Police Station.
Saidur has one case each with Mohammadpur Police Station over extortion and intimidation, the Arms Act and the Narcotics Control Act.
He also faces three cases with Adabor Police Station over intimidation and preparation for robbery, as well as a murder case, RAB said.
