Police have arrested 15 leaders and activists of the Awami League and its affiliated organisations, including five women, for allegedly gathering to hold a discussion marking 15 August in the Mansurabad area of Double Mooring police station in Chattogram city.

The arrests were made during a raid conducted from 3:30pm to nearly 6:45pm yesterday (15 August) on the fifth floor of the “Royal Torch” apartment, owned by the late Fazlul Karim Chowdhury.
The Chattogram Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrests through a press release issued yesterday afternoon.
According to Double Mooring police, law enforcement conducted a raid on the building after receiving information that Awami League leaders and activists, along with members of its affiliated organisations, had gathered there for a discussion marking 15 August.
