Two private cars collided on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway in the Tejgaon area of the capital today (12 August), causing severe traffic congestion on the expressway.
No one was injured in the accident, according to a senior official of the Dhaka Elevated Expressway.
The accident occurred around 2pm in the Nakhalpara section as one of the cars was travelling from Banani towards Farmgate, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
According to him, the car suddenly stopped in the middle of the road when another private car coming from behind crashed into it.
The rear of one car and the front of the other were damaged in the collision.
The accident caused severe congestion on the elevated expressway, with traffic movement disrupted for several hours.
The two damaged vehicles were eventually removed from the expressway around 5:30pm, the official said.
