The Bangladesh Coast Guard provided free medical treatment and essential medicines to 470 people at a medical camp in Patuakhali on Thursday (6 August).
The camp was held in Durgapur under Itbaria union of Patuakhali Sadar from 9 am to 1 pm, according to Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan.
Coast Guard Base Agrajatra organised the initiative as part of the force’s humanitarian activities for people living in coastal and riverine areas.
Sabbir said the Coast Guard regularly organises medical camps to provide free healthcare alongside carrying out various humanitarian programmes.
“The Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue conducting such public welfare initiatives in the future,” he added.
