Jacob Batalon has opened up about Spidey trackers’ fan-friendly features.
In an interview with People Magazine, the Spider-Man star reflected on his role, explaining what made Ned a fan-favorite character: “I think what’s really cool about Ned is that they never really lost his intelligence.”
“I think one of the main things that made him so cool was that not only was he a really great best friend, he was also just a really techie guy. And I feel like Samsung, especially, for people who definitely like using phone’s capabilities to their potential, it’s really useful. So it really just made sense that he would use Samsung technology,” he further explained.
Furthermore, speaking about the tracker device used in the film and its fan-focused features, the actor said, “I think the watch and the full phone combo was really great. I think for me personally, I had no idea that phones were capable of doing such things, and so it was very enlightening — I was able to play with those things and Samsung was very gracious enough to let me kind of just, like, fool around with it. And it was really fun.”
Adding, “It was really useful for fans to find out where we’re going to see what’s going on, and it was a really fun thing to be a part of, because fans really love Spider-Man.”
“It was a really cool add-on and addition to the movie,” he further added.
Besides Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, and Zendaya as MJ, and others.
