The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder by Tk70 for August, setting the new price at Tk1,598, up from Tk1,528 in July.
The new rate will take effect from 6pm today (2 August).
According to a press release issued by the BERC on Sunday, the retail price of private LPG has been set at Tk133.15 per kilogram, including VAT.
The BERC has also adjusted prices for all other cylinder capacities, ranging from 5.5kg to 45kg.
Meanwhile, autogas – the LPG variant used in motor vehicles – has been set at Tk73.67 per litre, including VAT.
The energy regulator said the monthly adjustment reflects changes in global market prices.
The import cost was calculated using an average US dollar exchange rate of Tk123.69.
However, the price of government-supplied LPG remains unchanged.
Under a BERC order issued on 23 February 2026, the retail price of state-owned 12.5kg LPG cylinders remains at Tk776.93.
