Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC is set to expand into the Libyan market after signing a global distributorship agreement with Tripoli-based private company ASR AL TECHNIYAH, marking another step in the electronics manufacturer’s global expansion strategy.
The agreement, disclosed through the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today (26 July), authorises ASR AL TECHNIYAH to sell, distribute and market Walton products across Libya for three-years.
The move is part of Walton’s aggressive “Go Global” strategy, following similar distributorship partnerships in Singapore and Sri Lanka, the company said in a statement.
Investors reacted positively to the announcement, with Walton’s share price edging up 0.16% to close at Tk386.90 on the premier bourse.
Meanwhile, the company’s recent earnings report showed a slight contraction in profitability. Its earnings per share (EPS) for the January-March 2026 quarter stood at Tk8.39, down from Tk11.76 in the corresponding period of 2025.
For the first nine months of the 2025-26 fiscal year (July-March), the EPS settled at Tk19.29, compared to Tk20.90 a year earlier.
However, the electronics giant recorded a significant turnaround in its liquidity position. The net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) for the nine-month period surged to Tk22.32, a sharp recovery from a negative Tk1.67 in the previous year.
Walton attributed this 1,436% improvement to an 8.18% increase in collections from customers and a 19.28% reduction in payments to suppliers.
As of 31 March 2026, the company’s net asset value (NAV) per share with revaluation reached Tk366.80.
According to the quarterly report, Walton earned Tk80 crore from export in the first nine months of FY26, which was significantly 76% higher from the previous year at the same time. During the period, its total revenue stood at Tk4,548 crore.
According to the Walton website, the company is currently making waves in foreign markets, spanning across 40 countries in Europe, North America, Asia, West Africa, and more. The ultimate objective is to establish our brand name in the list of top five electronics brands of the Globe by 2030.
