Three people died of dengue across Bangladesh in the 24 hours until this morning (26 July), while 458 new patients were admitted to hospitals, according to the latest data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The figures were published in a press release issued today by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the DGHS.
Of the three deaths, one was reported in the Dhaka South City Corporation area, one in Barishal Division and one in Khulna Division.
The latest fatalities have raised this year’s dengue death toll to 43.
During the same 24-hour period, 438 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 11,935.
With the latest infections, the cumulative number of dengue cases recorded nationwide this year has reached 13,098.
