The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has directed all government and non-government schools and colleges across the country to form sports management committees ahead of the Prime Minister’s Gold Cup National Football Competition 2026.
The directive was issued today (20 July) in a notice signed by Professor Md Shahidul Islam, deputy director of the Physical Education Department under the DSHE.
According to the notice, all educational institutions under the DSHE must establish sports management committees in accordance with instructions issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education.
The committees will be responsible for overseeing preparations and related activities for the tournament.
To ensure implementation, the DSHE has instructed all regional directors, deputy directors (Secondary), district education officers and upazila and thana secondary education officers to take the necessary steps.
Principals of all government and private colleges, as well as head teachers of lower secondary and secondary schools, have also been asked to comply with the directive and form the committees.
The DSHE has further requested that the directive be published on its official website.
