Taylor Swift’s $20 million wedding has effectively sucker punched Blake Lively a source suggests in their new admission.
For those unversed, not only is Taylor the godmother to all four of Blake’s kids with Ryan Reynolds but also was a friend of multiple decades – that is until the case between her and Justin Baldoni caused some of her emails to be subpoenaed and come to light. These emails saw her reference Taylor as her ‘dragon’ who she can call on when times get tough.
What its ended up doing is making her feel like Blake “was speaking to her like a corporate ally in her ongoing legal bid, rather than as a friend” often times too.
The wedding to Travis Kelce was one of the biggest examples of this also because decades of past friendships did not get her an invite to the big day.
Many faces attended the star-studded event for those unversed, and according to the sources who spoke to Closer, “seeing Gigi [Hadid], Cara [Delevingne] and all the people that Blake used to be so close to celebrating with Taylor without her was a brutal reminder of how much has changed.”
Not even her husband has been able to do much despite the insider suggesting Ryan’s “been doing everything he can to keep her spirits up. Reason being the fact of the matter is that “it’s just very, very hard – especially because there’s this underlying fear that this is going to haunt her for ever.”
“Taylor had so many A-list stars at her wedding, it’s hard not to feel like all of Hollywood is now Team Taylor,” they also added near the end, before signing off.
All in all “it’s really hammered home for her just how much of an outsider she now is.”
For those unversed, while the case has been settled out of court, many say it was a total loss for Blake. But more than that, it began after the 2024 film It Ends With Us, sparked accusations of sexual harassment, then eventually “a retaliatory smear campaign”.
By the end 10 of Lively’s 13 claims where thrown out by U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman, and only three claims (breach of contract and retaliation-related charges) proceeded toward trial.
The only money that she’s guaranteed to recover from this case is $8 million in legal fees which fall under a California statute protecting accusers from retaliatory defamation suits.
