The Ministry of Home Affairs has dismissed three police officers from service for remaining absent from their workplaces and absconding since 5 August 2024.
The dismissals were announced through three separate notifications issued by the ministry today (9 July).
The officers are Additional Superintendent of Police Jewel Chakma of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-14, Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Mahmudul Hasan of Rajarbagh Police Telecom, and Additional Superintendent of Police Mishu Biswas of the Jamalpur In-Service Training Centre.
According to the notifications, the officers were dismissed on charges of remaining absent from duty and absconding since 5 August 2024, when the Awami League government was ousted in a mass uprising.
