Rapid Action Battalion-2 (RAB-2) has arrested three alleged snatchers, including Kabir, also known as Dhongsho Kabir, an alleged member of the Kobjikata Anwar group, during separate drives in Adabor and Karwan Bazar in the capital.
The two others arrested are Kabir’s associate Abdur Rahman and alleged juvenile gang leader Md Billal Hossain.
Three machetes were also seized during the operations. RAB-2 Deputy Director (Media) M Mubin Rahman Taposh said the arrests were made yesterday (28 June).
According to him, acting on a tip-off, a RAB team conducted a drive in Road 4 of Shyamoli Housing under Adabor Police Station after learning that a group of snatchers had gathered there to commit crimes.
Sensing the presence of RAB, they tried to flee, but Kabir and Abdur Rahman were arrested. Two machetes were recovered from them.
In a separate operation the same day, another RAB-2 team arrested Billal Hossain from the Karwan Bazar area under Tejgaon Police Station.

Kabir has five cases filed against him at different DMP police stations over robbery, snatching and drugs, while Billal has a total of 11 cases involving robbery, snatching and drugs.
