Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced the temporary closure of Proshika Road adjacent to the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on four days in June, in connection with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election and the Bangladesh-Australia cricket fixtures.
In a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed today (6 June), the police requested city residents and motorists to use alternative routes on 7, 9, 11 and 14 June.
According to the notice, a practice match between the Bangladesh and Australia national cricket teams, along with the BCB Board of Directors election, will be held on 7 June. The three-match ODI series between Bangladesh and Australia will then take place on 9, 11 and 14 June.
To ensure security and smooth traffic management during the events, vehicular movement on Proshika Road, adjacent to the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, will remain suspended from 8am to 6pm on those four days.
