The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (2 June) forecast a mild heat wave in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours, commencing from 9am.
According to a Met Office bulletin issued this morning, a mild heat wave is sweeping over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions, as well as the districts of Dhaka, Narayanganj, Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Mymensingh, Chandpur and Lakshmipur, and it may continue.
It also said light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning flashes, are likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, and at one or two places over Dhaka division, with moderately heavy falls at places over Chattogram, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
The weather may remain mainly dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, the bulletin added.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.
