A total of 6,175 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have returned home from Saudi Arabia as of today (31 May) following the completion of this year’s Hajj.
“A total of 15 return flights were operated by three designated carriers — one by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, one by Saudia Airlines, and two by Flynas Airlines,” an official said.
The Hajj Office said that so far, 416 Hajis have returned under government management, while 5,759 returned under private travel agencies’ arrangements in 15 flights — three by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, four by Saudia Airlines, and eight by Flynas Airlines.
At least 37 Bangladeshi pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia during this year’s Hajj, including 24 males and 13 females. Of them, 27 died in Makkah and 10 in Madinah.
No deaths have been reported in Jeddah, Mina, or Muzdalifah.
This year’s Hajj operations began with the first outbound flight on 18 April and concluded on 21 May.
The return Hajj flights started on 30 May and will continue until 30 June.
