Thousands of holidaymakers thronged the on Friday as the rare pink albino buffalo named “Donald Trump” emerged as the star attraction during Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.
Visitors, including families and children, crowded around the buffalo’s enclosure, taking photos and videos while enjoying the festive atmosphere at the zoo in Mirpur.
The pink-coloured albino buffalo was handed over to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock earlier this week after police took it into custody citing security concerns.
Later, the rare animal was transferred to the National Zoo under government supervision after officials identified it as a genetically uncommon specimen requiring conservation.
The nearly 700kg buffalo had gained widespread attention at a farm in Narayanganj ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, where large numbers of people gathered daily to catch a glimpse of the animal.
Farm authorities said the buffalo was named “Donald Trump” because its hairstyle resembles that of the US president, while its unusual appearance and calm temperament further boosted its popularity.
