Homebound passengers from 21 southern districts are travelling smoothly on a rainy morning through the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway and Padma Bridge towards their respective destinations.
The highway, regarded as the main gateway to southern Bangladesh, has seen a slight increase in traffic due to the Eid travel rush compared to normal days.
However, vehicles are crossing the Padma Bridge without delay.
There are no reports of disruption or difficulty on the expressway as passengers are continuing their journeys without major inconvenience.
As in previous Eid travels, the expressway is seeing a mix of long-distance buses, private cars, and motorcycles.
At the Padma Bridge toll plaza, toll collection is being carried out through eight booths, including ETC facilities, to maintain smooth movement.
As observed at the toll plaza, separate lanes have also been arranged for motorcycles to speed up crossing.
District Police Sergeant Ziaur Rahman said there is no traffic congestion on the highway or at the toll plaza.
He added that vehicle volume is comparatively lower than on other days, and traffic is moving smoothly across the bridge.
