A massive fire that broke out today (25 May) at the Kalshi slum in Mirpur’s Pallabi area of the capital was brought under control at 9:35pm after nearly two hours of efforts by 15 Fire Service units.
Fire Service Headquarters Warehouse Inspector Md Anwarul Islam said seven units from the Pallabi and Mirpur fire stations began working to control the fire after receiving the report at 7:23pm.
He also said firefighters were facing difficulties controlling the blaze due to a shortage of water.
