Police arrested an elderly man, Abdul Razzak, 69, in Savar over allegations of attempting to rape a 7-year-old girl.
He was arrested last night (21 May) from a house in the Binodbari area of Aminbazar Union by Aminbazar police outpost, confirmed Savar Model Police Station OC Arman Ali.
Police said the accused and the victim’s family lived in the same house in adjacent rooms.
In the afternoon, Razzak allegedly took the child into his room and attempted to assault her.
Later, locals surrounded his house in the evening.
At night, the victim’s family filed a case against the elderly man at the police station over attempted rape.
