Government employees appointed to posts requiring specified professional qualifications will receive one or two advance salary increments under the new pay structure.
The benefit will apply at the time of appointment when the relevant degree or professional qualification is prescribed as the minimum requirement for the post.
Employees appointed to posts requiring an MBBS, Bachelor of Architecture, engineering degree or an equivalent qualification recognised by the government will receive one advance increment.
Employees will receive two advance increments if their posts require a degree in engineering or architecture, a degree in physical planning along with a master’s degree from a government-recognised educational institution, or a bachelor’s degree with honours in law along with a postgraduate degree.
Employees holding a licence from a medical faculty will also receive one advance increment if the licence is prescribed as the minimum qualification for the relevant post.
According to the new pay provisions, the advance increments will be granted at the time of appointment.
