Four more members are reportedly set to join the Cabinet led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, with The Business Standard confirming the names of one of them.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is scheduled to take the oath of office as president this evening (21 August). The new Cabinet members are expected to take their oaths shortly afterwards, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Andaleeve Rahman Partho, chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) and lawmaker from Bhola-1, has received a phone call asking him to take the oath of office as a minister.
Abdul Matin Saud, secretary general of the BJP, told TBS that Partha had informed him that he had received a call to take the oath as a Cabinet member.
However, Saud could not say which ministry Partho would be assigned.
