A mild earthquake was felt in Sylhet and its surrounding areas at 12:46pm today (19 February), according to reports.
As reported by The Daily Star, the Meteorological Department’s Earthquake Observation and Research Centre said the tremor measured 4.1 on the Richter scale.
The epicentre was located in Chatak, under Sunamganj district, approximately 187 kilometers northeast of Dhaka.
Assistant Meteorologist Farzana Sultana confirmed that it was a mild earthquake. No immediate reports of casualties or significant damage were received following the tremor.
