According to police, a 50-year-old man was arrested this afternoon (22 May) over allegations of attempting to rape two girls aged 10 and 6 in the Agrabad Hajipara area under Double Mooring Police Station.
The incident reportedly took place around 12:30pm near Sunnia Mosque while the children were playing in a vacant area beside the mosque.
Police said the father of the younger victim caught the accused, identified as Mohammad Ehsan, red-handed after becoming aware of the incident.
Locals later informed police, and officers from Double Mooring Police Station arrived at the scene and arrested him.

“Police took immediate legal action and produced the accused before the court,” he added.
In a separate incident, police arrested another man over allegations of molesting a five-year-old girl in the Mohammad Nagar intersection area under Bayezid Bostami Police Station.
The incident took place around midnight, police said.
