Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy over allegations of raping a six-year-old boy in Srinagar upazila of Munshiganj.
The accused was nabbed from the Sholaghar Bazar area around 10am today (21 May) and later sent him to court.
Sreenagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Jewel Mia said a regular case had been filed following a complaint lodged by the victim’s family. He said the accused had been arrested and the investigation was underway.
According to the case statement, the accused, who is a neighbour of the child, allegedly took the boy into his room under the pretext of playing and raped him multiple times.
The latest incident allegedly took place on Tuesday evening (19 May) when the accused found the child alone, locked the room and assaulted him again.
At the time, the victim’s uncle, Jalil Sheikh, heard the child crying and knocked on the door. After the door was opened, the accused fled the scene.
After the incident, the child fell ill and was quickly admitted to Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex.
Following the incident, the victim’s father filed a case with Sreenagar Police Station.
