Police have detained 14 people, including four women, to Cantonment Police Station following a fresh alleged attack on the New Guinea housing project in the capital’s ECB Chattar area of Mirpur.
Police reached the scene around 4pm today (7 November) after receiving reports of an attack and subsequently took the 14 people to the police station.
Confirming the incident, Shilpi, a duty officer at Cantonment Police Station, said the individuals had been brought to the station following a clash at the housing project.
“Four of them are women. Details will be shared later,” she told TBS.
The latest incident comes weeks after the housing project, operated by New Guinea Properties, was attacked and vandalised on the night of 26 September, with valuables reportedly looted.
During that attack, the studio of content creator Salman Muqtadir was also vandalised and looted.
Police subsequently arrested 11 people in connection with the incident.
