Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Sakhawat Husain has stated that no unauthorised and substandard clinics will be allowed to operate in the country.
He emphasised that a “zero tolerance” policy will be enforced against clinics and hospitals involved in irregularities.
The minister made these remarks today (24 March) while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on the first working day after the Eid holidays.
At the briefing, he said, “Special inspections and strict enforcement drives have already begun in private clinics across the capital starting today.”
The minister further said, “Although longstanding problems cannot be resolved overnight, he assured that irregularities will be eliminated gradually. Private clinics must comply with their licenses and provide proper healthcare services in accordance with regulations.”
“The prime minister has issued firm directives to ensure quality healthcare services,” he added.
Regarding the inspection drive, he added, “Monitoring activities have already started in various areas of the capital. Clinics from Asad gate to Shyamoli are currently under supervision, and the drive will expand nationwide in phases.”
