A woman was killed when a bus lost control and hit her in front of the Ria Gop Stadium area in Fatullah of Narayanganj this morning (26 March).
The deceased, Latarani Mondal, 50, was the wife of Sukharanjan Mondal and a resident of the Pilkuni area under Fatullah Police Station.
According to eyewitnesses, she was critically injured after being trapped between a bus and the road divider while crossing the street.
Locals rescued her and took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where she later died while undergoing treatment.
According to the police, a passenger bus of Shyamoli Paribahan, traveling from Kushtia to Narayanganj, lost control and hit a pedestrian.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Fatullah Model Police Station, Abdul Mannan, said, “Police were dispatched to the scene after receiving the information. The body has been kept at the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and legal proceedings are underway.”
