Police recovered the hanging body of a teenage domestic worker in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar today (13 April).
The incident took place in the Sridhan Para area of Fatekharkul union. The deceased was Maya Tanchangya, 15, from the Hwaikyong area of Teknaf.
The body was sent to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Ramu Police Station Officer-in-Charge Monirul Islam Bhuiyan.
According to police, locals found Maya hanging from a ceiling fan with a scarf in the kitchen on the second floor of a three-storey house owned by one Sadhan Barua.
