State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit has urged people to be economical in the face of a global crisis triggered by ongoing war.
“A global crisis is underway due to the war situation. The government is working to address the crisis and public cooperation is essential,” he made the remarks at the Jashore Central Eidgah before offering Eid prayers this morning (21 March).
Extending Eid greetings, the state minister urged people to practise austerity, noting that even if the war ends, its impacts will continue to be felt worldwide.
He added that while countries across the world are preparing to face the crisis, the government is also taking steps, and people must remain prepared as well.
Jessore Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashiq Hasan also delivered a greeting speech at the congregation.
Among others present at the prayers were Jessore Zila Parishad Administrator Delwar Hossain Khokon, Deputy Director of the Local Government Division and Jessore Municipality Administrator Rafiqul Hasan, Chief Executive Officer of Jessore Zila Parishad SM Shahin, and President of Jessore Press Club Zahid Hasan Tukun.
A second Eid congregation was held at the same venue at 9am, with a large number of devotees participating in both prayers.
Special prayers were offered seeking global peace.
