A Dhaka court has granted bail to singer Mainul Ahsan Noble in a case filed over allegations of embezzling Tk13 lakh by promising marriage.
The court of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman granted him bail on a bond of Tk5,000 today (5 April) after a hearing, confirmed defence lawyer Md Imran Hossain.
Earlier, on 24 February, the same court had granted him bail until 2 April on the condition of a settlement with the complainant. On 2 April, the court later rejected his bail plea and ordered him to be sent to jail.
According to the case statement, the accused developed a romantic relationship with a woman and promised to marry her. Taking advantage of the relationship, Noble allegedly took a total of Tk13,18,540 from her at different times between 25 August 2023 and June 2025. He later did not return the money and misappropriated it.
The case was filed on 13 August 2025, after which the court directed the Police Bureau of Investigation to probe the matter.
After the investigation, on 7 January, PBI Sub-Inspector Nuruzzaman submitted a report to the court stating that the allegations were found to be true.
Earlier, Noble had been arrested on 19 May 2025 in a case filed at Demra Police Station over allegations of rape and assault. He was granted bail on 24 June, five days after marrying the complainant in jail.
