The government has appointed Advocate Musa Kalimullah as state defence counsel to represent the accused in the Ramisa rape and murder case before the Dhaka Metropolitan Children Violence Suppression Tribunal.
A gazette notification in this regard was issued today (24 May) by the Solicitor Wing (GP-PP Branch) under the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
The government earlier on 23 May, appointed Advocate Azizur Rahman Dulu as special public prosecutor to conduct the case on behalf of the state.
Meanwhile, Judge Masrur Salekin of Dhaka Metropolitan Children Violence Suppression Tribunal today set 1 June for holding a hearing on charge framing in the case.
The court passed the order after accepting the chargesheet filed in the case.
The case, registered as Children Violence Suppression Tribunal Case No 1390/2026, originated from Pallabi Police Station Case No 35 dated 20 May 2026.
The charges were filed under sections 9(2)/30 of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, 2000, along with sections 201/34 of the Penal Code.
