BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today (30 January) urged voters in Bogura to cast their ballots for the party’s sheaf of paddy symbol in the upcoming national election to prove that the district is a stronghold of the BNP.
Speaking at a large roadside rally at the Mokamtola bus stand in Shibganj upazila this afternoon, he also said the party had prioritised national and local development whenever it formed the government through a popular mandate.
BNP-nominated candidate for Bogura-2 (Shibganj), Mir Shahe Alam, also addressed the gathering.
Earlier, Tarique visited the shrine of Hazrat Shah Sultan Balkhi Mahisawar (RA) at the historic Mahasthangarh in Shibganj upazila before leaving for Rangpur.
