Opposition Chief Whip and National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has alleged that partisan appointments are being made in various government offices and that party leaders have been appointed as administrators in city corporations.
“Another struggle must be prepared for. This time, no mistakes, we want to take to the field with full strength,” he said while addressing an iftar gathering organised by the NCP at a community centre in Sylhet today (4 March).
Nahid further said that in the parliament, they would raise questions from a position of accountability.
Speaking at the event, the party’s Chief Organiser Nasiruddin Patwary said they would not retreat “even an inch” from their demand for justice over the killing of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
“No matter how powerful the individuals involved may be, they will be brought under the law,” he added.
He also expressed firm commitment to establishing the rights of young people to employment and opportunities in business.
Leaders of the BNP, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and other political parties were present at the iftar programme.
