Unity and collective efforts to take the country forward should be the true joy of Eid-ul-Fitr, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said today (21 March).
Salahuddin arrived at the Pekua Upazila Central Jame Mosque at around 8:50am and offered Eid prayers at 9:30am. After the prayers, he exchanged greetings with the public.
He then inspected the upazila field and directed that renovation work be carried out quickly.
Speaking to journalists afterwards, the minister extended Eid greetings to people across the country.
“On this holy day, we pray to the Almighty for the peace, stability, prosperity, and development of our nation. Let us all work together in unity to move our beloved country further ahead. This should be our true joy today.”
On Rohingya repatriation, he said it remains an important and ongoing issue for the BNP government.
He said Bangladesh seeks cooperation from the international community and remains committed to a sustainable and peaceful solution, expressing hope that the United Nations and other organisations will play a more active role.
At about 10am, the minister visited the Mobarakia Mosque premises and offered prayers at the graves of his parents.
