The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has issued an 11-point directive to ensure a fair, transparent, and malpractice-free environment for the upcoming Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations 2026.
According to an official order issued today (29 March), the government has adopted a “zero tolerance” policy against any form of irregularities during the examinations, which are set to begin nationwide on 21 April.
Authorities at all levels, including centre secretaries and field officials, have been instructed to strictly implement the guidelines.
The 11 directives are as follows, CCTV cameras must be installed in every examination centre and in each examination room; Any non-functional CCTV cameras must be repaired and made operational before the exams begin; All recorded CCTV footage must be properly preserved and submitted to higher authorities upon request; Each examination room must be equipped with a wall clock (analog); Adequate security personnel must be deployed in consultation with local administration to ensure safety at centres; No teachers or examinee, except the centre secretary, will be allowed to use mobile phones inside the exam halls; Strict measures must be taken to prevent cheating; students must be searched before entering centres, with female students checked by female teachers.
Besides, necessary instructions for students and guardians must be displayed at the main entrance of each centre; Cleanliness and proper ventilation must be ensured in all centres; Instructions provided by the respective education boards must be followed accordingly; Any negligence in implementing these directives will result in strict legal action against those responsible.
The authorities also stated that monitoring has been intensified at both central and field levels to prevent all forms of irregularities during this year’s SSC examinations.
