A man identified as Irfan Jahan Noor has been detained after attempting to assume the position of director at the Super Specialised Hospital at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) using a fake presidential order.
The incident came to light today (30 March) when hospital authorities became suspicious of the appointment document he presented. Upon verification, the document was found to be fraudulent, and Irfan Jahan Noor was subsequently turned over to Shahbagh police.
According to officials, the fake notification claimed that, with the approval of the president and chancellor, Irfan had been appointed as director of the Super Specialised Hospital under relevant provisions of the Bangladesh Medical University Act, 2025.
However, suspicion arose over whether “Dr Irfan Jahan Noor” is his real name and whether he is actually a medical professional, as these details could not be immediately verified.
